About Baylands and Quarter Midget Racing
Quarter Midget racing is an involved family sport. Few other sports permit all members of the family to participate. The kids, ages 5-17, do the driving while other family members and friends serve as pit crew, chief mechanics, scorers, timekeepers, and operators of concession stand. This sport levels the playing field for gender, race and age and teaches the meaning of sportsmanship, fair play by following rules, how to be a good winner and a gracious loser. It develops coordination, responsibility, a sense of timing, independent thinking, an appreciation for mechanical devices and the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learnings associated with the physics and mechanics of racing. It teaches children safe driving skills that are carried on into their teen years on the road. We believe these skills are extremely valuable to become responsible adult drivers.
On behalf of the BQMRA Board of Directors and its member families, thank you for your time and consideration.
Baylands Quarter Midget Racing Association (BQMRA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN 94-3017045) seeking your partnership for our 2024 racing season. We are located in San Jose adjacent to the Metcalf Motorcycle Park, a Santa Clara County Park serving families from all over the Bay Area and out of state. Baylands provides children ages 5-17 a safe and responsible place to race Quarter Midget cars and participate in a community dedicated to outdoor healthy living opportunities for families.
